This has been such a very spiritual week for me.On Wednesday all of the new missionaries had a special conference and my companion and I had the special opportunity to have a mini cambio with some of the Hermanas that have only been in the misison for 4 weeks. I was with Hermana Veron who is from Argentina. It is incredible to see the amount of energy and strength of the spirit that the new missionaries bring to the mission.
I have been preparing for the Hermana study that we had on Saturday and have had such a beautiful experience learning how to listen to the spirit testifying to my companion and I what it is that we should share with our group to help them progress. As I mentioned in my last email we had our Leadership counsel last Monday which helped me think of many ideas to for our study. We have felt that the root of all the problems we have been seeing recently have been coming from the lack of planning well and the only way that one can plan well is to have the spirit present in the planning session which is very hard for missionaries especially after coming home after a long day. So we decided to talk about how important every moment is in the mission and our responsability to give a report of our efforts to the Lord every night. We talked about many ideas that we can do to be preparing ourselves during the day to report to the Lord the way we are occupying our time. Many hermanas had the idea to evaluate after each lesson the things that they did well and what could have been better so that in the night they can plan to improve for the next day. The spirit was very strong and it was incredible to see how the spirit is truly the real teacher, we are just the instruments in the Lord´s hands.
Before the study we of course had to do something fun so my companion and I planned a tea party. The hermanas loved it! It has been such a joyful experience to serve my group and help them feel the Saviors love through my service. Each one of them is truly amazing and I know that they are all here serving in this mission for a very specific reason.
We all have a very divine potential, and something I have been learning in the mission is the truth of the statement that God can make so much more out of me than I could ever make of myself. As I have personally been reporting my efforts to the Lord every night I have seen the influence of the spirit stronger in my life. I feel motivated to kneel before my father and tell him about the things I did during the day then humble myself to plead for his help to improve the things I could have done better.
I would encourage you all to do the same! One day we will all have to stand before the Lord on the Judgement day and report the acts that we have done in this life.
I know this church is true! There is not a single doubt in my mind. This work is glorious and I am so happy to be serving as a full time representative of Jesus Christ. I hope you all have a wonderful week! Thank you for your thoughts, prayers, and support.
Con Harto amor,
Hermana Parkin
