This week was wonderful!! As many of you already know it was my birthday and it is amazing how loved I felt even though I am many many miles away from my family. The ward here always takes such good care of me and makes me feel important and loved. I can hardly beleive that I am 20 years old! Time sure has flown quickly in the mission. It is crazy that we have almost reached the beginning of March. I am sure you are all enjoying the fact that the weather will soon be warming up. I am a little bit terrified for the next few months because Ive heard the winters here are brutle! With lots of wind and rain. Pretty soon it will be time to pull out the rain boots and layers of clothes.
On Thursday we had a special conference because one of the members of the seventy, Elder Di Giovanni, spoke to us. His message was so uplifting and motivated me to work even harder. My companion is doing great and adjusting well to the mission life. We have been setting a lot of goals to be exactly obedient especially with the Schedule. I am trying to teach her that through obedience we will receive more blessings and be happier. She is such a cutie! She has a very big heart and always brightens up my day.
Sunday I was asked to give a talk about missionary work. Istudied throughout the week and thought a lot about what I could share with the ward. This was my first time giving a 10-15 minute talk in Spanish, in sacrament meeting before, and I prayed so much for the spirit to be with me so I could clearly express what the ward members needed to hear. As I stood up at the pulpit I didnt feel nervous at all. It was amazing how I was able to boldy stand in front of the congregation and express the feelings of my heart. The words just seemed to flow and I could feel the spirit working through me. I know the gift of touges is real and that if we fulfill with our part and are always striving to be worthy of the spirit we can all receive many blessings from our Father in Heaven and be a blessing the lives of others.
I absolutely love being a representative of Jesus Christ! I am really enjoying training and feel so much love for the people in my sector. I know that the chruch is true and that through following the teachings of Christ we can all return to the prescence of our Heaveanly Father one day. That is what he wants because we are all Gods children with a divine purpose and potential. I hope you can all look inside yourselves and understand how many talents and gifts you have been blessed with and use them to bless the lives of others.
Thank you for all of your love, support, and birthday wishes. I can feel your prayers every day.
Have a wonderful week!
Con amor,
Hermana Parkin
