It has been another very busy week! I cannot believe how quickly the time has been flying by. Lately the weather has been very cold. It has starting to rain a lot and this morning we saw frost on the car windows, but with all of our warm clothing its not so bad. Our investigator Leslie who recently got married has an official baptisimal date for June 6th! Her husband Arturo will have his preisthood rights restored next Sunday and will be able to baptize her. They have such a beautiful family and is has been so special to see them progress together. They have the goal to be sealed in the temple one year after Leslie`s baptism.
Because our Hermana group is really big we had to do to mini-cambios this week. I love being able to be with all of the Hermanas for a day becasue I have been learning so much from them. We have some incredible missionaries in our mission. It is wondeful to see the work each of them is doing in their sectors and hleping them understand how pleased God is for the sacrifices they make every day.
I had an idea at the beginning of this cambio to talk to the Hermanas about their health and help them set a health plan so that they can feel good about themselves and have more energy during the day. It has been so fun to see how excited the Hermanas have been getting to put healthier goals for themselves. I like motivating them.
Yesterday we had a special experience. All of our plans fell through and we were just contacting a few houses in the feezing cold. I am still getting to know our sector and dont know all of the members very well but kept feeling like we should go visit a lady who hadnt come to church yesterday. I told my companion and she agreed that we should go see her. We had received a reference from the same lady the week before and right before we got to her house I said, lets try to contact this reference before we visit Hermana Carolina.
We knocked on the door and a lady named Blanca, the reference, answered the door. We began to present ourselves and her husband came to see who we were. They ending up letting up pass and we began to explain about our message and asked if we could sing them a hymn. The spirit was very strong and in the end they told us that years ago Elders had been visiting them in their house but one day the just disappeard. After inviting them to baptism they said that they would pray to know if the church was true. We were able to set up another appointment with them and will hopefully be able to get them to come to church with us.
I have such a strong testimony that God helps us know his will through the impressions of the Holy Ghost. It is a still small voice and if we are not listening we may miss opportunities to be a blessing in the lives of others. I would encourage you all to strive a little harder to always be open the the promptings of the Holy spirit and act on what you feel.
This church is true. I know it will all my heart!! I hope you all have a wonderful week. Remember you are in my thoughts and prayers. Thank you for your love, support, and prayers.
Con harto amor,
Hermana Parkin
