Well last night I received a call from President Arrington explaining that the Lord has called me to be an Hermana Leader. He asked if I would accept the call and of course I told him yes. So it looks like after more than 6 months of being in Talcahuano I am finally going to be leaving to my new sector in Collao, which is basically in the middle of Concepción. My companion is from the United States but I am not sure where. This is going to be her last cambio in the mission and President told me to learn a lot from her this last cambio because she is one of the best. Although I feel sad to leave my family in Talchauano, I am excited and ready for a change.
This last week has been so crazy and full of lots of exciting things. First of all, Hermana Johnston, one of the Hermanas that lives in the same house as me, is ending her mission today. So the whole week she has been running around like crazy trying to get things ready and I have been adjusting the fact that she is leaving me... We have been in the same house for all of my time in Talcahuano and we are honestly so close. I love her SO much! But the good news is that she lives in Indiana and is going to study at BYU so I will see her soon. Also this weekend was our ward´s temple trip and Marcelo, our recent convert, was able to do baptisms for the dead with Jessica, his girlfriend who was less active but reactivated with his baptism. It was the first time for them both and they had such a great experience. We have recently put a goal for them to be married and in about a year they can be sealed for time and all Eternity.
Thursday my companion and I had the privelage of having Mini-misionaries. Young men and Women interested in serving in the mission were able to stay with a few of the missionaries for 4 days to learn more about the mission life and prepares themselves to serve. It was such a beautiful experience to be assigned to help a mini missionary. She had so much excitment and desires to serve a mission it was truly inspiring. I could tell that she had a very spiritual experience and is going to put in her papers soon. The youth leaving in the mission field are more prepared every day. It is incredible to see the strength of the mission force throughout the world. Nobody can stop it!
I want to end with my testimony. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only true church in the world. I know that the only way we can return to the prescence of our Heavenly Father who loves us dearly, and to live together with our families and our Savior Jesus Christ forever is through exact obedience to the covenants we have made and always trying to become more like our Savior every day. Through his atonement we can repent and receive the strength to keep enduring.
I hope you all have a wonderful week and remember that I am praying, fasting, and thinking of you often. Thank you for you love and support.
Con harto amor,
Hermana Parkin
