This weekend was such a spiritual boost for me. I have been preparing for General Conference for quite awhile now and dont think I have ever been so excited to listen to our living prophet, apostles, and leader of the church speak. How glorious it is that we have a living prophet who receives modern revelation in a continually changing and difficult world. I wrote down 5 very specific questions before the conference and have started going through all of my notes to write down answers I have received. I feel very humbled as I was able to identify many things that I need to improve as a missionary and know that there is so much more I can give to the Lord as his full time representative
Lately I have been thinking a lot about how I can use every moment wisely while I am in the mission and this morning was studying in D&C 31. It talked about thrusting in your sickle with all your soul and being receptive to the promptings of the spirit in order to know where to go and what to do. I always want to fulfill what I have been asked to do but sometimes feel like I dont take the time to stop and listen to the spirit in order to understand what God really expects me to do.
After the conference I felt so strongly how sacred my calling as a missionary is. I am literally a representative of him and am called to do his work not mine. My goal is to understand his will and align it with mine. To work with all of my mind, might, heart, and strength in order to bring the souls to Him that are prepared in my sector.
It is amazing how much personal revelation and spiritual strength we can receive every 6 months. However, I think the most important part about each conference is the application in our lives. If we dont set goals to improve and seek to live what we have learned, we didnt really benefit in the long run. I would like to challenge all of you to continue studying and listening to the general conference talks for the next 6 months and to put into practice all you have learned.
Thank you all for you constant support, love, and prayers. I am praying for you and am so grateful for this wonderful opportunity to serve my Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ. I know he lives and he is the way to find everlasting happiness.
Have a wonderful week!
Con harto amor,
Hermana Parkin
