Well this has been such a fun week. As you were all celebrating Independence Day, all of the Chileans were celebrating the win of the American Cup for soccer!! These past few weeks have been really interesting because whenever Chile plays we have to either be in the house of someone we are teaching or in our apartment doing productive activities because its really dangerous outside after the games. The Chileans really care about fútbol. We were able to watch the final game with some of our investigators a small family whose names are Mariela, Luis, and their daughter Estefania. They need to get married but both excepted to be baptized and came to church on Sunday. They are progressing really well.
These past few weeks our zone has been practicing to sing a few songs for a special missionary devotional. We started our singing called to serve, my companion and I with two elders sang I stand all Amazed, President Arrington came to speak, they showed a few mormon messages, two recent converts bore their testimonies, and to end we all sang the EFY medely. During my time in the mission I have truly come to realize how music can bring invite the spirit so strongly. As we have been practicing it has been a beautiful experience to see how united we have become as a zone and how incredible it is to share a firm testimony through singing a song. Many missionaries didnt feel like they were musical before but we able to overcome their fear and our voices bleded so well.
My companion and I have been really busy trying to help all of the Heramans in our group along with the people we are teaching and our investigator Camila is going to baptized this Saturday!!! We have seen so many miracles these past 3 weeks together. I am so lucky to have such a hard working companion.
I am so grateful for the opportuinty to be a full time representative of Christ. I love being a missionary and am growing in unimaginable ways every day. Right as I think I couldnt possibly be thrown another challenge I seem to be stretched just a little bit more. I know Heavenly Father sees my full potential and is helping me to reach that. Although I am very often in an uncomfot zone I have realized that we can never really stay where we are comfortable because if we do we arent continuing to progress.
I know my Savior lives and that this is the true church. Thank you for your love, support, and constant prayers. Have a wonderful week!!
Con mucho cariño,
Hermana Parkin
