Well tomorrow we will have our cambios (transferrs). Of course I already knew that my companion is going to leave because she is ending the missoin, but the question was...who will be my new companion? Her name is Hermana Garces. She is also from Utah (im not exactly sure where but somewhere up north). I dont know her very well but have talked with her a few time during the mission. There are a lot of things changing in the mission lately and I have a lot of responsability to take on this cambio. I will be senior companion and will be helping Hermana Garces to know how to be a sister training leader. Also because the amount of missionaries in our mission are decreasing they are closing a lot of sectors and the elders who were in our sector are getting taken out. That means that we have to also teach their investigators, converts, and less actives. I feel very peaceful but am going to need a lot of help from the Lord to complete the work he wants me to do in Collao. Please pray for me to have the strength to be even more consecrated and to be able to follow the promptings of the holy ghost. We have an incredible sector (Area) and there is so much potential in our ward. I am ready to work even harder together with the members this next cambio and know that we are going to see many miracles.
On Saturday Our investigator Lieslie was finally baptized!! It was such a beautiful experience. Her husband Aruturo bore his testimony in the baptisimal service and said, in one year from now we will be on our way to be sealed in the temple. The Holy Ghost testified to my heart of the importance of the temple and the truthfulness in the fact that the baptismal convenant is only the door we enter. It does not end with that. We have to continue enduring to the end which includes going to the temple to seal us with our families for time and all eternity.
This last cambio with Hermana Blau has been incredible. I love her so much and have learned how to become such a better missonary through her wonderful example. I will miss her a lot but am so thankful that Heavenly Father has allowed me to learn and grow from her for this short time.
Tomorrow I will complete 11 months in the mission, and it is amazing for me to look back to the person I was the first day I entered into the MTC. How incredible it has been to be shaped by the Lord into the person I am today. I continue to progress every day and feel so happy having the opportunity to serve the Lord with every effort that I have.
I am sorry I dont have much time to write a lot of details this week, but I love you all SO very much. Thank you for the prayers and all of your support. Have a wonderful week.
con harto amor,
Hermana Parkin
