After General and Stake Conference, a lot of the members are motivated and really exited to work with us. It is great! We have gone from having a member coming out with us maybe 2-3 times a week, to 2-3 different members every day! I feel like I am becoming better at planning which is honestly what I believe to be the key to success in the mission. As long as we make the effort to call people about appointments and coordinate members for each one of them, we seem to have a wonderful and accomplished day. Having members with us during a lesson is so crucial! I never realized the big role they really do play. For all of you who have helped the missionaries in any way whether it be feeding them, giving them references, going to lessons, or just encouraging them to keep moving forward, I want to thank you! You are thier family away from home and every effort is greatly appreciated.
On Friday our district leader came with us to Juanita`s house for her support baptisimal interview. She told us that she had been so nervous all day, but afterwards came out and announced that she has a baptisimal date for the 8th of November! Once the Elders left, she explained how Elder Jaen helped calm all of her fears and how peaceful and calm she feels. I know that Juanita has been prepared to recieve the gospel! One of her dear friends from college happens to be a member in our branch and always comes with us to see her. They just hug, smile, and laugh every time they are together. She is excited to start coming to church every Sunday and keep the Sabbath Day holy. She is such a beautiful example to her family and friends and loves her Book of Mormon.I feel privelaged to know and teach her.
I just love seeing her countenance brighten as she comes to know the truths of the gospel and all the blessings that are in store for her. Her husband died years ago and now she lives alone, but this week we are going to teach her about the temple. What a beautiful blessing we haev on the Earth. I am so grateful for Eternal Families and sharking this message of hope with others.
I love you all SO much! I would like to thank you for all of your support and prayers. Have a wonderful week!!
Con mucho amor,
Hermana Parkin
